Uranus in Aries will bring sudden changesUranus in Aries: Unavoidable changes!

It is official. Uranus has started its 7 years sojourn in Aries where it will bring sudden, unexpected changes in the area of your life where it falls.

You might already feel these changes taking place, especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, and Mercury) and/or Ascendants in the early degrees (0° to 4°) of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn).

Changes that seemed an impossible feat or you had only dreamed of implementing one day are happening. Circumstances are forcing you to do something you had never done before. An opportunity suddenly knocks on your door that requires you to change the way you do things. It does not matter!

The fact remains you are facing major changes in your life, whether you actively pursued them or they were forced upon you and you have trouble adjusting to them.

Changes are ahead with Uranus in Aries Why is change so hard?

Change is hard.” “People hate change.” Those are two of the most common quotes regarding change.

The statements are misleading. Otherwise, people would not get married or, have kids, two of the most important changes one can make in life.

Then, one must ask oneself why do some huge changes, like marriage, come easily, while some trivial changes, like changing a habit, meet fierce resistance?

It’s the emotional system!

Research discovered that humans have two separate “systems” in their brains—a rational and an emotional one.

When these two systems are in sync, change can come quickly and easily (as in getting married). When they’re not, change can be grueling.

In those situations where change is hard, how do you deal with the emotional upheaval those changes have created?

Here are ways that can help you deal with change and uncertainty:

4 Strategies to deal with change

Take time to recoup

If you have faced big changes, you need time to sort through them and adjust emotionally to your new circumstances.  It is also important to allow yourself to work through the emotions awakened by the change that you’re experiencing.

Give yourself some time to adapt, especially if you are experiencing feelings of sadness and grief over something that used to be a major part of your life and is no more.

Getting closure will help you move forward. Grief counselors often suggest an ending ceremony of some sort to help you bridge the gap between the past and the present.

Understand the change

Change very often is accompanied by a fear of the unknown. We don’t know what to expect or understand what is happening or why and how it will affect us. Take time to educate yourself on all of the details of the change. Taking action will give you a sense of control over the changes you are facing. Talking to others who have faced similar changes can also help you prepare for what’s ahead.

Talking to others has also another advantage it can help you reframe the meaning of the change and allow you to deal better with the situation.

Bridge the change with familiar things and people

The unfamiliarity of change can be scary. Temper your fear; surround yourself with people or things that are familiar to you. They will act as a bridge between the old and the new life.

Similarly, participating in activities that enable you to regain a sense of control over your life, at least some parts, can help bridge the transition.

Join a support group

Sharing your story with people that have faced similar circumstances can help you better accept the changes you are trying to cope with.

My own experience

All these techniques have helped me dealing with the changes brought on by Uranus brief stint in Aries in the summer of 2010. Of course, the change came as a complete surprise, totally out of the blue. My life has taken on a new direction that has yet to be completed. In the meantime, change is hard. Emotionally, I am happy with it. In practical and financial terms, it has been extremely difficult to bear with no end in sight, at least not until Saturn goes direct.

As an Aries, the waiting for the situation itself to be resolved is “killing” me.

The situation reminds me of the last time Uranus created some upheaval in my life. The pattern was the same. The end result was worth it, as I accomplished one of my cherished dreams.

one of my favorite sayings is that “people are afraid of what they know little about.” Fear of the unknown is part of that. I have seen a lot of bad things happen to my friends the past few years. They have lost siblings, husbands, and friends. I have also lost several friends, as well as my dad back in 2005.

I wonder if the horoscope of Japan has been affected by the current transits, so much bad has happened there. The earthquake has affected everyone, not just the Japanese. What the future holds is a little frightening.

What I find scary is that during the upcoming transits, which are squaring and opposing my Sun, could bring something drastic and terrible. So far I feel like I’ve dodged several bullets, but the next time I may not be so lucky….

      Katley:

Fear of the unknown can be paralyzing. On the other hand, knowing is only the cookie prize, it does not really help you deal with the situation. Or if does, its only marginally. At least that has been my own experience. I believe what is important is to accept within yourself that you will deal with whatever situation/problem you are faced with. Accepting that fear/anxiety is part of whatever we have to face in life can help better manage those feelings and decrease the amount of fear of what could happen. Imagination plays a big part of fear.

I personally like change. However I’m starting to freak out with the world changing. I’m an Aries with an Aquarius raising so I’m hoping for something good to come. Nothing dramatic or interesting has happen to me in a long time & now I feel like I’m waiting around for something to happen with uranus in my sign. LOL

    • Fabienne Lopez says:

      Hi Tania:

Welcome. Thanks for sharing! With Uranus in good aspect with your rising sign, I believe any changes should be favorable and welcomed. So get ready for some good old changes. Let me know how it goes.

As had to be expected per your prediction of “sudden changes” with Uranus entering Aries (my sun-sign), it just happened for me. And very unexpectedly: had a bad accident (broke one knee) while cutting a ripe banana tree on a steep, wet slope. No driving, horse riding, swimming for some time – imagine the plaster…

But also had subsequent to this very painful mishap a rather extraordinary overnight experience in 2 Brazilian public hospitals and with my neighbours (mostly Japanese immigrants). All very uranian stuff, even one of the most sympathetic nurses I ever met is an Aquarius! Será que tem males que vem pra bem?

    • Fabienne Lopez says:

      Hi Gian Paul:

Sorry for your accident. Hope you are doing well now. It is interesting that with Saturn in opposing opposing Aries, it had to be the knee! As for Males que vem para bem, you will have to wait for the end of the story, as in the Asian tale of the old and his son to see what is the over arching story line.

  4. Gian Paul says:

Hi Fabienne: So right you are that Saturn governs the bones! And that Chinese story you mention is one of my favorites. Will have to be patient and see it to the end – sé Deus quiser!

  5. katley says:

Saturn governs the bones and the sign it’s transiting represents the part of the body that it rules. The first time I ever broke a bone, Saturn was in Pisces, and the the bone was the piggy toe on my right foot!

Now that Saturn’s transiting Libra, I’m suffering from pain in my knees, especially on rainy days.

  6. Gian Paul says:

I am gratefull for all the expressions of sympathy I received. On Saturn/bones/teeth: whenever I had a tooth problem it happened around X-mas, Sun entering Capricorn..,

Remeber very well as there was several times no dentist to be found. They all were of skiing or busy with their families.

PS. To Fabienne: your blog gets better by the day. My advice: stop sending updates via e-mail (a gente so lé isso, preguissa, falta de tempo). Acho melhor voce sò avisar que tem novidade e offerecer “easy link” para ir para proprio post de voce. Ele é bem melhor, graficamente.

    Abraço, GP
