7 Sins of Creativity – Wrath

©January 2011 by Fabienne Lopez

mars and wrathSo far in the series of 7 sins, we have covered Lust, Gluttony, Greed and Sloth. The next in line is Wrath - inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger.

In astrology, wrath is represented by Mars. It is how we activate our  passion, get inspiration and motivation, and break through creative blocks. Mars’s sign can reveals what you may have to fight for, or against, in order to express yourself.

Conversely, it is also how we manage anger, irritation and violent negative emotions in general when things do not go according to plan.

Anger, impatience, rage, hatred… these are all part of the creative sin of wrath. Triggers that set you off at the drop of a hat.

Things like:

When your work isn’t  going as you wish it would;

Or when  you are  not getting the results you want fast enough;

Or when you avoid particular themes or subjects because you have difficulties dealing with them.

The inability to manage Mars energy productively can create the blocks that only reinforces the circle of anger, frustration, creation, etc…

The solution?

Time and patience. It takes time to create something  exactly as the one you visualized when you had the idea. It takes patience to learn the skills, to spend the time practicing those same skills to get the result you want.
